Manishikha Baul

A 5-MONTH-LONG,PRODUCTION BASED CONTEMPORARY THEATRE ENSEMBLE TRAINING PROGRAM

Process

The base process draws from Indian traditional dance forms, its theory, everyday urban rituals and the pedagogy of embodied practice from the London International School of Performing Arts in Berlin. The roots of this creative process lie in the practice that everything is born from the knowledge and physicality of the body. Thrice a week we will share the space to explore our own bodies, the collective body and the spaces we inhabit to bring out stories perhaps unknown to and from within us.
This process work makes everyday physical practice the source of material generation along with placing the body as the skeletal framework to build upon. The months will entail exploration of movements, words, lines, sounds, images and physical spaces.
